Each piece is carved and hand-finished from solid blocks of Italian or Spanish marble, or vein-cut Italian travertine. The base is carefully hollowed to a thickness of 1¾ inches to reduce overall weight while preserving structural integrity. The travertine is honed and sealed to achieve a smooth satin finish, with natural pitting left visible to reveal the stone’s authentic character. Marble surfaces are also honed and sealed, enhancing the dramatic veining and natural contrasts unique to each block.

Natural variations in color, texture, and veining are inherent to the stone and further influenced by the hand-finishing process, making every piece one of a kind. Travertine may display pits of varying size and placement; larger cavities are filled, while smaller ones remain unfilled to highlight the material’s organic beauty. As a porous natural material, stone may be susceptible to marks, stains, or scratches, so care should be taken to avoid placing sharp or heavy objects directly on the surface.
